Taking the old and making it new.
Saint Paul is a city rich with old buildings, and takes pride in repurposing these old treasures for modern use. In fact, over the last two decades creative reuse of historic structures has changed our approach to urban development. Carleton Place Lofts are a prime example of the unique communities that can be born from older structures to rejuvenate evolving neighborhoods – in this case the University-Raymond Commercial Historic District.
Built between 1909 and 1931, the three warehouse buildings that comprise Carleton Place Lofts are ideally suited for creative live/work space. The open floor plans, brick and heavy timber construction in the 2295 and 2341 buildings create a classic warehouse feel, while concrete floor slab construction with clay tile walls and concrete mushroom columns inspire a more Moderne environment in the 2285 building. |
